Mobo Telecom technicians offer a turnkey solution. Your remote will be programmed by certified professionals during the initial installation following your Shaw Direct subscription.

Prerequisites for programming your Shaw Direct remote control

Identify one of the two following remote control models:

Both controllers are almost identical except for the color of the SOURCE and ASPECT buttons. If the buttons are black, you have the IRC 600 model, otherwise it is the URC 600 model.

First programming steps

Perform a code scan

  1. IRC 600: Press and hold the SAT button until it flashes at least three times.
    URC 600: Make sure that the device is turned on.
  2. Shaw Direct remote instruction - code scan
  3. IRC 600: Enter the code 9-9-1 on the remote. SAT should flash twice.
    URC 600: Press and hold ENTER and MUTE until the buttons flash in a circular pattern
  4. Shaw Direct remote instruction - code scan - step #2
  5. IRC 600 Press CH+ once per second until the receiver turns off. (If you pass the correct code, press CH- to scan backwards).
    URC 600: While pointing the remote at the device, press and hold the up arrow button until the TV turns off by itself.

  7. IRC 600: Press SAT to store the code. The SAT button should flash twice.
    URC 600: Press MUTE once. The TV should turn back on by itself. If not, repeat steps 3 and 4.

  9. URC 600: Press ENTER to store the code once the TV turns back on.
